1. Who we are
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the International Breeds Certificate website at ibcpedex.com (the "Site") and the registration services offered through it (the "Services"). The Site is operated by International Breeds Certificate LTDA ("IBC", "we", "us"), a company organized under the laws of Brazil, CNPJ 51.969.929/0001-64, Av. Bandeirantes, 2670, Sala 07, Brigadeiro Tobias, Sorocaba/SP, CEP 18108-000, Brazil. Contact: info@ibcdogs.org.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account, submitting an application or using the Site, you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy and to the IBC Code of Ethics. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or request a Service. If you use the Site on behalf of a kennel, cattery or business, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it to these Terms.
3. Your account
- You sign in with your email address and a password. Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for all activity under your account.
- The information you provide (name, country, address, phone) must be true, complete and kept up to date.
- New international accounts are reviewed by IBC before they can request Services. We may decline or suspend an account that provides false information or violates these Terms.
4. Applications and registrations
- When you submit an application (for example, a litter registration, ownership transfer, single registration or Puppy TAG activation), you confirm that all information and documents you provide are accurate and that you have the right to submit them, including any consent required from a previous owner or co-owner.
- IBC reviews every application under its own registration rules and may approve it, request corrections or additional documents, or decline it.
- If an application is not approved, IBC will contact you to explain the reason and the next steps. In many cases a correction allows the application to proceed. Declining an application does not automatically result in a refund (see Section 6).
- IBC may correct, suspend or cancel a registration that was obtained with false, incomplete or misleading information.
- IBC reserves the right to refuse registration of any animal that does not meet its registration criteria.
- Any dispute about a litter, pedigree or registration must be submitted to IBC within one (1) year of the date the record was issued.
- Do not send original documents unless IBC asks for them. Keep your own copies; IBC keeps submitted documents only as long as needed to process the application and as required by law.
5. "Owner" and "Breeder" on IBC records
The "Owner" and "Breeder" shown on an IBC pedigree or record reflect the information submitted to IBC. They are registry records and do not constitute proof of legal title to an animal. Disputes about ownership or sale of an animal are between the parties involved.
6. Prices, payment and refunds
- Prices for international customers are shown in US dollars and are charged by card through our payment processor, Stripe. IBC does not receive or store your full card number.
- Prices may change at any time; the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. An order is accepted only when payment is confirmed.
- Fees are generally non-refundable once an application has been submitted and reviewed. If IBC cannot complete a Service, IBC will contact you and, at its discretion, may offer a correction path, a credit or a refund.
- If you file a payment dispute (chargeback) while IBC is processing your application, IBC may suspend the application until the dispute is resolved.
7. Puppy TAG
- A Puppy TAG is a single-use code, issued for one puppy or kitten of a litter registered and approved by IBC. The breeder pays a litter fee; the new owner uses the TAG to register the animal in their own name.
- Each TAG shows its deadline. Registration at the regular price is available until the date printed on the TAG; after that, a late fee applies until the TAG's final expiration date. Expired TAGs cannot be used.
- The breeder may cancel and reissue a pending TAG; once cancelled, the old code no longer works. A TAG prepaid by the breeder is registered by the new owner without paying the registration fee.
- Once activated, a TAG cannot be used again.
8. Delivery of certificates
International certificates are delivered digitally by default. When a printed certificate is mailed, IBC is not a carrier and is not responsible for items lost or delayed by the postal service or courier once shipped; a replacement may be requested through the Duplicate Certificate service.
9. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the photos, documents and text you submit. You grant IBC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce and display that content to provide the Services, including on pedigrees, certificates, the public pedigree database (Pedex) and the verification page. You confirm you have the rights to the content you submit.
10. Public registry information
IBC operates a public registry. Information such as the animal's registered name, breed, sex, color, date of birth, pedigree, breeder kennel and owner name may be displayed publicly on the Site and on certificates so that pedigrees can be verified. See our Privacy Policy for details.
11. Intellectual property
The Site, the IBC name and logos, certificates, designs and texts are owned by IBC or its licensors. You may not copy, scrape, reproduce or use them without our written permission, except to view and print your own records for personal use.
12. Acceptable use
You agree not to: submit false information or documents; impersonate others; interfere with the Site's security or operation; use automated tools to collect data from the Site; or use the Site for any unlawful purpose.
13. Electronic communications
You agree to receive notices about your account, applications, payments and Puppy TAG deadlines by email and on the Site. These communications satisfy any requirement that notices be in writing.
14. Information only; no professional advice
Articles, breed information and analyses on the Site are for general information and are not veterinary, legal or professional advice.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, IBC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. IBC does not guarantee the health, genetics, conformation or value of any animal.
16. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, IBC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. IBC's total liability for any claim related to the Services is limited to the amount you paid IBC for the Service giving rise to the claim.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify IBC against claims arising from information or content you submitted, or from your breach of these Terms.
18. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email info@ibcdogs.org with the material, its location on the Site, your contact details and a statement of good faith.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Before starting any formal dispute, you agree to contact IBC at info@ibcdogs.org and try to resolve the issue informally for at least 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the courts of the district of Sorocaba, State of São Paulo, Brazil.
20. Changes, termination and general terms
We may update these Terms; the new version applies from the date published on the Site, and continued use means acceptance. You may close your account at any time; IBC may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Code of Ethics are the entire agreement between you and IBC. For international customers, this English version prevails over any translation.
